Pinillos Resano, Iñaki

Telecommunications Engineer

Iñaki Pinillos graduated in Telecommunications Engineering from the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) and conducted his final year project on recommendation systems and data mining at the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Since 2016, Iñaki has served as Managing Director of NASERTIC (an instrumental public entity pertaining to the Government of Navarre with a turnover of €26M), bringing his wealth of professional experience as an entrepreneur with a drive to contribute as much as possible to development in Navarre. The vision he has gradually acquired throughout his professional career on such pertinent issues today as the world of Smart Cities, AI, Big Data and telecommunications, coupled with his conviction that all extra effort results in shared benefit, have put NASERTIC in a position to engage with a significant number of ongoing strategic projects in Navarre (Supercomputing Cluster, Personalised Medicine and Massive Sequencing, Digital Innovation Centre, Broadband Master Plan, and others).

As a result of his previous experience in the tough entrepreneurial sphere, Iñaki has altered the philosophy of this public company towards a horizontal approach and project-based working, overcoming the expected resistance to change and providing the various teams with greater autonomy. His capabilities are evident from how he balances the management of a company comprising more than 100 professionals with being a member of the Entrepreneurs Club of the Public University of Navarre (UPNA), member of the Public Coordination Committee for the Navarre Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3), member of the Governing Board of AUTELSI and UNIRED (the main associations in the telecoms sector), sponsoring partner of APD (Association for Management Progress), sponsor of ADITECH Corporación Tecnológica and Vice President of the Governing Board of ATANA (Navarre ICT Cluster).

His strategic vision and multiple talents were also demonstrated when he founded and directed IP Ingenieros for 12 years, and i3i for 7. Iñaki believes in lifelong learning. For 5 years he has collaborated with the Schneider Electric training institute, and for 6 years he has been a part-time professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Electronics at UPNA. He is also involved in social and sporting projects, having served in the Coaching Team of the Navarre Cycling Federation for 7 years as member of the Governing Board, manager of cycling schools and of the Navarrese youth cycling team.

Iñaki Pinillos was made a young corresponding member of Jakiunde on 8 November 2019.
